Understand project file and log file locations
By default, server project data and log files are stored in the directory:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.QSRNVIVO9\MSSQL\DATA\
This location may be different depending on whether you've upgraded from NVivo Server 11 rather than doing a fresh install.
You can change the location of project and log files separately, for example—you might want to store log files on a network location rather than on the server that hosts your NVivo projects.
Change the file locations for new projects
To change the locations of data and log files for new projects:

Open the NVivo Server Manager.

Click the Settings tab.

Click the Browse buttons beside the Data file and Log file boxes to select the new folder locations. We recommend you store data and log files in an uncompressed locally attached disk that NVivo Server has permission to write to.

Click Save.
NOTE
- The Log file setting only applies to new projects in NVivo 12 Windows, NVivo 11 for Windows and NVivo 10 for Windows formats. Log files for NVivo 9 projects are stored in the same location as the data files.
- If you want to move existing files to a new location, you will need to migrate the project files using SQL Server Management Studio.
