NVivo - Integration allows users to send files directly to NVivo  from Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

NVivo - Integration is an add-in for Office applications which allows a user to send files directly from Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook to NVivo (Release 1). It is a subscription service associated with a myLumivero account. Files are saved to the cloud, so an internet connection is required to use this add-in.

NVivo 14 Windows accepts files from Word, Excel and Outlook—NVivo 14 Mac accepts Word and Excel files only (however you can send files from Outlook Mac to NVivo Windows).

Installing the Word and Excel add-ins

  1. Open Word or Excel in the desktop or web versions.

  2. On the Insert tab, click Get Add-ins (desktop Word and Excel), Add-ins (Word web) or Office Add-ins (Excel web).

  3. In the Store, search for NVivo - Integration for Word & Excel.

  4. Click Add. The add-in is installed, with an icon on the Home tab.

Installing the Outlook add-in

  1. Open Word or Excel in the desktop or web versions.

  2. In the Outlook desktop version, on the Home tab, click Get Add-ins.
    In the Outlook web version, open an email and in the top right of the email, click the More actions icon (three dots).

  3. Select Get Add-ins from the bottom of the list.

  4. In the Add-ins for Outlook screen, select All on the left and search for NVivo - Integration for Outlook.

  5. Click Add. The add-in is installed:
    In the desktop version the add-in icon is placed on the Home tab.
    In the web version, the add-in is installed as an item in the More actions menu.

Outlook

Outlook files are accepted by NVivo Windows but not NVivo Mac.

Using different accounts for NVivo and the cloud modules

Users must log in with their myLumivero credentials to access Collaboration Cloud, Transcription or NVivo - Integration (see myLumivero in the NVivo user online Help for more information).

It is possible for a user to have more than one customer account linked to their profile, in which case they must log in with the account that has a license for the product they want to use. For example, a researcher may have access to NVivo through a university enterprise account but have purchased NVivo - Integration with their personal account. They must log into the university account in order to activate their installation of NVivo but log into their personal account when they want to use NVivo - Integration.

Note: All new purchases of NVivo include a 1-year subscription to NVivo - Integration.
