Upgrade from NVivo Server
NVivo Collaboration Server Release 1
You can upgrade from NVivo Server 11 and NVivo Server 11 R2. If you are running NVivo Server 10 you can manually install NVivo Collaboration Server Release 1 and migrate your projects. See Migrate NVivo Collaboration Server

Recommendations
Before you upgrade, it is recommended that you:

Back-up any NVivo projects.

Back-up the server computer.
Pre-requisites
In order to upgrade:

You need to be using Windows Server 2012 R2 (with update KB2919355 installed) or later.

If you are not logged into Windows with the 'BUILTIN\Administrator' account, you will need to:

Disable the ‘User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode’ security policy.

Restart the computer.

You must be logged into Windows as a user who is part of the Server/Domains Administrators group.

Your logged in Windows user credentials must be part of an NVivo Server Managers group.
Upgrading from NVivo Server

Log on to the server using an account with administrator privileges.

Download the NVivo Collaboration Server Release 1 ISO file, and mount the disk image (the .iso file).

Open the root folder of the mounted drive, and then double-click the upgrade.bat file.

Follow the prompts in the installer. This process will be similar to a standard installation.
Note: You can also follow this procedure to do a re-install of NVivo for Teams if required.
